Simplex Radio was founded in 1959 by Mahomed J G Sacoor. Their first premises was a shop in Victoria Street, stemming from humble beginnings and growing through hard work and dedication. They focused on wholesale and retail.
With the evolution of electronics as the years went by and the addition of Mr Mahomeds 3 sons, Shiraaz, Saleem and Shabeer the business had grown and they then moved to Smith Street. The much larger showroom allowed them to expand into TV’s, Home theatres and appliances, together with installation, all under one roof.
In 2010 they became the official Sony Car Audio importers for South Africa working closely with Sony to bring in the best products available.
In 2018 they moved from Smith Street to 202 Brickfield Road. A new store but the same principles of valuing customer relationships and striving on service and performance.
